that's quite interesting, and funny...I think this may be right!
I started yesterday morning with climbing mount. Esja, yubbs!
It was absolutely a gorgeous day, sunny, warmish and you could
see all directions from the top so clearly. Mind you I didn't go all
the way this time, I skipped the top part, done that twice and last
time I went I decided that I have no desire to put my self through
that again let alone others, it's like the dot over the i.
To where I went it took ONLY 54 minutes!!!
It was tough, but then Hadda doesn't "call everyone her grannie"
6.48km/01:39, smart, I'm actually VERY happy with that time
going up that way, you're not sightseeing on the way up though,
just climb, climb, climb and sweat!
After Eska I just made it to this store to buy a gift for the night.
I was at the "food festival" at Kleppsvegur and there to my
surprise was Soffia Kjaran (she's been a good friend to Svana),
her husband, A co-worker of Svana and her husband,
Gudrun Halldorsdottir, Andri, Svana, Soley the birthday girl and I.
The others were not sitting at the table with us.
I say food festival cause the table was heavy with yummy, yummy
food and pretty as well.
People in the old days would have said..."she takes well to her food"
Gosh, I'm so funny today!!!
I had fun and I left almost ten with a plate filled with food that "dad"
insisted that I take with me. He was soooo funny in the kitchen when
he was "making" me take more and more food..."take more, take four,
take more...shooosh" and pointed to the living room and said..."thu sama
family, thu taka meira"
He also (and they) insisted almost hopping like a little boy that I
should go with them to Vietnam next year. Just pay for the flight
and the rest is history, you're one of the family.
I'm a lucky girl having such a big family :)
Before I drove off I put a poem (W.H.Auden)in Lilja Ólafsdóttir's door,
she just lost her husband, she lives next door to them and
they were supposed to be at the party as well.
They are called by the kids grand pa and grand ma and they
have been a huge help to them in various ways.
They have been teaching Svana and Andri Icelandic every week.
Lilja just retired (62 and looks not a day older than 50!) a
few weeks ago, they have been together since they were 15.
I was home at ten, put on my uniform and Chico and I went through
the day together.
What a nice day :)
